My goal for the year

My goal for this year in globaloria is to get part of the final game done. I really want to get at least part of the final thing done. Our game is going to be about depression and music. I'd really like to find some music to put, and get the actions for when you click on things. On globaloria Im glad we've already got the stages we have done. It's slot farther than we were last year. Maybe this year there really will be a good chance we can finish it. I hope it won't be that hard to find songs to express different emotions. We've already started listening to different songs. For research. I think we' ll definately get the demo done. Which that's gonna be cool to see something we made.

Imagining your game

I just finished the imagining your game part of the project. I found three sites that involved music and/or depression. I was kind of shocked at how many games there was out there. Flash games, of course. I played several games but the three I chose had something I liked well. Rather if it was graphics, the music, or interaction they had something I want us to put in our game.  The last game especially had the colors and music that I really really really liked. I hope we could do something like that in ours too. It was cool for a game, and it had a lot to do with music. I wonder just how hard it's going to be making it like that. Can't be too hard though, right?

Choosing a Topic

For our topic we picked Music and Depression. Music is something that influences us all, and Depression affects so many lives. So for our topic we picked Music and Depression. The goal of our game is to allow people to explore how music effects our emotions.  I found a good website about how Depression is healed by music. Musics effect the human emotions. Different music gives different emotions. And so I think showing and demonstrating how music heals depression would be useful. I think it's going to be an useful topic to help people understand a bit more.

Playing to learn

I loved how the action game had great graphics. I wanna know how to make the pictures looks so animated. Also the buttons. I really want to know how to make the things jump from one screen to the next. I think the action genre and maybe slightly puzzles. I think these topics and genres are cool and fun. I don't know what my partner will think, but this seems like the right genre. I really wanna learn how to change the slides. Do you think you could help me with that? It's seems cool.

Mini game

I thought the make a mini game thing was very helpful. Not only did it break down the action script layer's job and show us in depth about the layers itself but it showed us what all the steps are. I didn't like how you had to change the instant names. That always took forever. I don't think that the whole real game thing is gonna be that hard now. I think it's gonna be easy if we follow along the directions. Honestly it was fun and kinda easy. Maybe if we start soon on the real game it'll be easy too. I mean, after this and the mini scale of it, how hard is it gonna be? Just gotta be careful with the instant names. >.>
